Film | industrial packaging film
Crown Packaging offers a diverse range of film options, including stretch film, shrink film, hand film, and machine film.
what is packaging film?
Packaging film is a thin material made of polyethylene or polyvinyl chloride used to wrap products and keep them together. The film wrap locks in moisture and oxygen and keeps out dust. Film wrapping can be used for protecting products, displays, and grouping items together for distribution and shipping.
These films come in different materials and can either be shrunk around products or stretched. Stretch film can be wrapped either manually by hand or machine-wrapped.
Stretch film vs. shrink film
While shrink and stretch film are similar, they serve different purposes. To apply shrink film, heat is required to tightly wrap around products whereas with stretch film the material easily stretches around items.
For application purposes, stretch film is used for large bulk items and can be applied by hand or machine. Shrink film is commonly used for retail and food packaging due to its sealed barrier and cleaner appearance.
